My favourite piece of art

Hello everyone!

I don't think i could choose only one piece of art, in my opinion, there are different kinds of beauty in art, but i could definitely mention a few i find deserve to be mentioned.
First, Richard's Hamilton collage on paper "Just what is it that makes today’s homes so different, so appealing?," from 1956 that's located at the Kunsthalle Tübingen in Germany.
Hamilton belonged to the pop-art movement that begin around the 50's that was characterized for using images of the popular imaginary, and that is one thing that i like about this piece of art and the other thing that i like about this collage is what it is telling us about the culture in that specific moment inhabited the United States in a very sarcastic way, an aspect of art that i really enjoy and i also like it because it's also applicable to our current reality.

”

The second piece of art i want to talk to you about is René Magritte's oil painting "The Lovers", 1928. I chose this one in particular because it matters to me but there are other works by the same painter that i really like, and that show his mastery in the technique of painting and in creating this world that shouldn't make any sense and that has such neatness that immediately becomes something i enjoy staring at.
René Magritte belonged to the Surrealist movement and this painting i like because i once this a reproduction in acrylic, when i was in high school, for my art class and for my philosophy class i did a study about this painting and what the meaning of it was from the look of the subject.

I would also name any work by Picasso, Van Gogh, Velazquez and the Russians!

  1. Hello PAULINA!
Thank for your comments. If I decide about your two favorite piece of art. I choose the surrealist option. It' so difficult for me to understand the pop art, but nevertheless, the surrealism it is more natural and easy for me !
